During the same period, industrial production in the region has shown a growth rate of around 20 percent, or twice the national rate. Industrial growth in the region exceeded the national average. The volume of accumulated foreign direct investment in the Russian Far East has almost doubled in the past six years, reaching $80 billion. On the contrary, we tried to speed them up. Let me emphasise that even under the tough conditions of the pandemic and its economic impact we did not give up the implementation of the long-tern development plans for the Far East. Russia is an inalienable part of the APR, and we will establish in our Far Eastern regions a powerful centre for attracting capital and the new economy, create a space of opportunities for citizens to implement the most daring business ideas and projects. We are delighted to invite you to meet for the 2021 Directors Forum, face-to-face in Paris, to chat live, discuss in person and reconnect with others! Confidence in science and in science engagement activities have also faced challenging times. The 18 months which have just passed, paralysing the majority of economic, social and cultural activity, have put us to the test. This year's forum will be held on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 November and will be hosted as a physical meeting by La Cité des sciences et de l'industrie, Paris - venue of Universcience in Paris. Every autumn, the Senior Managers of Ecsite's Full Member institutions meet to exchange views, make trends and discuss key developments in science engagement: this is the Directors Forum, a carefully orchestrated mix of strategic talks, peer learning, networking and local highlights.
